A journey through white villages, winding roads, and dreamlike landscapes in Andalusia
“The Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos is one of the most fascinating routes in Andalusia, southern Spain. This route crosses a series of characteristic villages, known as “pueblos blancos,” so called because of their lime-washed houses, a tradition that originated to reflect the sun’s heat and keep the interiors cool. Located between the provinces of Cadiz and Malaga, these villages are nestled between the mountains of the Sierra de Grazalema and the Sierra de Ronda, offering breathtaking landscapes with rolling hills and spectacular gorges.
