From here you should take the SR222, the famous “Chiantigiana“, one of the most beautiful roads in Italy, which crosses hilly landscapes and medieval villages. The road leading to the Passo del Gran San Bernardo, when open and safe for a ride, is one of the most spectacular, with breathtaking views of the alpine peaks.
Driving through this region means immersing yourself in spectacular alpine landscapes, with imposing peaks, snow-capped forests and ancient fortresses nestled in the mountains. The roads, even in the colder months, offer panoramic routes that pass through small villages and offer breathtaking views of the highest peaks in Europe.
Recommended itinerary: start from Aosta, visiting its historic center and the Roman Theatre. Continue towards the Castle of Sarre, residence of the House of Savoy, and then climb up to Etroubles, charming mountain village.
